The hearing will be focused on Sessions’ involvement in the Trump campaign and his meetings with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the US. This will be the first time Sessions has testified before Congress since he recused himself from the Justice Department’s probe into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and the firing of FBI Director James Comey.
Attorney General Jeff Sessions, under fire over contacts with Russians and his actions prior to President Trump’s firing of FBI director James Comey, will testify in public Tuesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee. His testimony has been highly anticipated following last week’s appearance by former FBI director James Comey, who told the committee that Sessions had a third undisclosed meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
